Do you ever see a piece of clothing that simultaneously elicits all the right emotions? Is that too deep a question for clothes? As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been going bonkers for some fringe, it’s so hot right now in such a big way. Oh gah, can you tell how excited I am as I type this, I know, “get a grip girlfren’.” In one of my rare (yes work is eating up my shopping time) late night browsing on Net-a-porter’s “What’s new” section, I came across this maxi Proenza Schouler maxi skirt. They have this amazing video feature, which I must have played a gazillion times; in the video the fringe movement was divine. A wonderfully made basketweave mini skirt with fringe for goddess movement.

Get this? The skirt part is made in Italy with pliable basketweave canvas with a lined interior; God bless those Italians.The way the leg peeks out of the fringed skirt is so subtle yet sexy. After shooting we kept debating whether the skirt is blue or black, but it’s actually black, illusions. We had a few cat calls and comments thrown our way while shooting this, people in NYC are highly opinionated, I love it!

So of course I ordered the skirt, got it a size bigger, cause you know, I’ve learned to check the measurements when I shop online. The waist was a bit loose, but the hips were a good fit. Ummm you’d think I would be bummed that the skirt was not a perfect fit, but hey, that’s why there are tailors? A bit of a warning for girls with curvy proportions, you may want to go a size up and take in the waist. I used to hate altering clothes, but I’m now older hence wiser. This Proenza Schouler skirt is going to be a hot summer number.
