A year ago, the idea of buying a down-filled puffer jacket would have been an audacious one. You mean me wear a big puffer, which I relegated to the unflattering days of middle school? No way. Well, moving to NYC in the dead of winter will make you do things you never thought possible.

I owned a few coats that kept me warm enough, but my entire body would freeze just after short walks. I had to make a change or, in this case, a purchase. After I had read a few puffer jackets’ reviews, I decided I would get the long Moncler coat. To be worn ONLY on freezing, snowy days or so I thought. When I saw the pictured one with a cinched waist, I had to have it; it was the closest to non-frumpy as I was going to get while staying warm. I wore the coat the next few days, and I was the warmest I have ever been walking around the city in the winter. How had I missed out on the luxury of warmth for this long? Needless to say, I was hooked to Moncler. After those first few days, Moncler had my stamp of approval. This jacket heroes all my winter essentials. This pictured outfit is my typical work wear (read: almost every day), no purse, no vertiginous heels, no flouncy skirts, just a practical look covered up by Moncler.

The trick to salvaging any chicness, with such a covered look, is to add bling or fun skates as seen above courtesy of Lanvin and Céline respectively. With the announced blizzard hitting the east coast today, it’s the perfect time for this Moncler jacket to take center stage. Ladies (and gents) go ahead and get yourself a puffer jacket, enjoy the luxury of body warmth in the winter.

Stay warm folks and thanks for visiting.
