Moving to NYC and focusing more on the site was a real dream come true for me, so when the incident that robbed me of all my belongings struck, the timing was less than ideal. I mean I was in NYC with a fashion blog and nothing to wear, oh the irony that life throws at us. Anyway, it’s been three months now, and I am excited to say I am 90 percent back to normal, except for my wardrobe. It’s tricky when you’re trying to replace shoes and bags from past seasons, actually not tricky, but kind of impossible.

I will admit with all the holiday sales I frantically purchased more than I needed, to make up for that empty-closet-feeling. You would think with years of selective shopping experience under my belt, I would know what a necessity was and what wasn’t, but far from it. I was on a mission to replace every single item in my wardrobe. After numerous purchases followed by returns, I realized I was buying items from one single season just to fill up my closet again. I was in denial – a mad woman on a crazy shopping mission. I have since gotten in touch with reality. Here is how I look at it now, one flower print dress is enough if you style it differently, that simple.

This dress from Zimmermann and it’s psychedelic prints heralds my print dresses pick. With all the print dresses I craved, I had to have this one; it was a necessity. The dress’ details are so subtle, yet if you pay attention, they’re so in your face. The cut-outs with embroidery especially are exquisite; I had to wear a slip underneath to keep it PG. This dress was my first purchase from Zimmermann, and I think the bohemian in me is quite satisfied.
