Naeem Khan ss16 was synonymous with intricate, ornate designs worthy of endless praise. For Spring-Summer 2016 collection, Khan sought inspiration from the sun-drenched gardens of the South of France as evident with the red bougainvillea covered wall at the runway entrance. Khan also found inspiration from the azure blue waters of Capri and the soft palette of the French impressionist. The show started with loud opera music booming throughout the room as the models sauntered in the most majestic hand-made creations.
I could not tear my gaze from the runway, each gown/dress got even more beautiful than the previous one. Iconic muses of the 50′s and 60′s such as Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly, Brigitte Bardot and Jackie Kennedy were very much present in every look that went down the runway. Whether it was the vibrant fuschia embroidery midi A-line dress and headscarf that scream Jackie Kennedy or the vibrant yellow beaded gown that was so Sophia Loren, Naeem Khan ss16 collection was evident of romance and elegance.
It’s no surprise that countless of celebrities have taken his gowns from the runway to the red carpet. I hope you enjoy the pictures because they tell the magic better than words.
