Hamilton may have changed my standards for musicals. I read some great reviews and knew it was going to be a good one when we had to search high and low for the tickets. Hamilton is bio-musical about founding father Alexander Hamilton written by Tony award-winner Lin-Manual Miranda, who also stars as Hamilton. The performance starts high-energy and keeps this momentum, the audience’s thrill is palpable. According to the musical, this is a story about the oft overlooked life of Hamilton and his relationships with other founding father such as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson among others. The musical follows Hamilton as a young radical revolutionary and captures the dynamic of his political and family life. While I was watching it, I went through a range of emotions, from cracking up to holding back that one tear.

I’m that friend who everyone tells “please don’t spoil it for me by telling me too much about the movie/play/musical.” With time, I have learned to restrain myself from divulging too much out of excitement. I will tell you this, the cast was charismatic cast and overdelivered, you can’t help but connect with each one of them, at least I did. When we left the theater, it felt as if I had just walked out of a history class rapped by Jay-Z and Kanye. Hamilton has brought cool into theater. This musical has absolutely raised the bar for all other performances I will attend in the future. I only write about things that move me, and I spread the gospel, so if you are in NYC get yourself this hot ticket. Go in with an open mind and get ready to have your mind blown, yes really, blown away.

Thanks for the visit, wishing you a fantastic start of the week!
