Cream – Egyptian Magic (here or your local Whole Foods)

Since a few days ago the skin around my eyes has been super irritated from something I haven’t quite figured out yet, I’m working on finding that cruel culprit. In search of relief, I went to my bathroom and found all the calming oils, lotions and creams I’ve collected over the years. I had a good selection to pick from, but you have to be careful with anything you put on your face especially if it’s as sensitive as mine. Then I saw my little tub of Egyptian Magic, sitting in the back of my ‘clean’-product-shelf and remembered how soothing it was on my previous cuts and burns. Yesterday, I put some of the cream around my eyes and just like that, magic, the irritation improved, it’s been day 2 and it’s still working. Texture-wise it’s similar to vaseline, so it’s shiny skin around the eyes for me until this irritation subsides.

Have you heard of the Think Dirty app? You can use this app to scan products and learn about the potentially toxic ingredients in your cosmetics and personal care products. It has a score system of 0-10, 0 being ‘clean’ and 10 being the most toxic. The app also recommends ‘clean’ alternative products to your toxic ones. I started using it on my cosmetic products and didn’t get time to finish, but some of the things in my bathroom were scary high in the toxic scale. I need a Saturday to go through my entire apartment. I will do a review later on the clean products already in my bathroom, one of which was Egyptian Magic, it scored a 0, a perfect score! Check out and download the app, start thinking dirty and shopping clean here.

Happy Hump Day!
