Today was a beautiful day in NYC, a mild 62 degrees, seemed like my lack-of-winter clothes problem was at bay. It wasn’t until the sun set that I realized it will not be this nice too long and soon I will need to layer up.

This blog post is somewhat sombering to me, because a few month ago I purchased a Missoni scarf and lost it my second time wearing it. Somewhere between shopping for barstools and a coffee table I must have left it at a furniture store never to retrieved it again. I had grown quite attached to that scarf. it was different; ruffled, beige, loosely-knit cashmere yarn that did not irritate my skin.

It had been hard to continue building my winter wardrobe after losing the first item I bought. But out of sheer necessity I needed to get a hat, it was frigid out and I needed to cover my head, so the hunt / search for winter items was back on. I landed a hat and a wool coat at an impossible price.

This Cut 25 coat is a dream, underneath the collars it’s lined with leather. Heaven! (intermix.com)

Metallic shine in the winter. This J crew hat will sparkle my winterly days. (jcrew.com)

I now eagerly await for black Friday sales, which ironically I have never participated in, but will this year.

Update: Found my Missoni scarf on Thanksgiving day, woo hoo, one more thing to be thankful for.

XOXO
